
Barber Courses for Beginners
Our barber courses for beginners are an easy way to enter the men’s barbering industry and are taught by our talented and friendly master barbers at the Caveman Barber Shop & Training Academy in Beverley. Learn all the skills and techniques you need to become an experienced and successful barber from a series of short and flexible barbering courses. If you are new to hairdressing and this is your first barbering experience, we recommend taking our twelve-week course which can either be split into two flexible six-week courses or one continuous twelve-week course. Our practical hands-on approach means you won’t be spending time studying the theory or taking academic examinations.
Our course structure gives you real-life experience and training in barbering from master barbers working in the industry. Our barber trainers will teach and guide you every step of the way, helping to build confidence, answer any questions, overcome obstacles and be the best you can be. Our courses welcome people of all ages, gender and backgrounds. Barber courses for beginners will run from Monday to Wednesday between 8.30am and 2.30pm for our morning classes or between 3pm and 9pm for our evening classes.

What you will learn:

Within the first half of the 12-weeks we will teach you the core foundations of barbering, which include:
Principles of hairdressing and barbering services
Shampoo, condition and treat the hair and scalp
Cut hair using basic barbering techniques
Cut facial hair to shape using basic techniques
Dry and finish men’s hair
Create basic outlines and detailing in hair
In the second half of the 12-week course you will learn more advanced barbering techniques, these will include:
Cut hair using a combination of basic and advanced barbering techniques
Design and create facial hair shapes
Wet shave and shaving services
Barbering consultation services
Promote and sell barber products and services
Design and create patterns in hair
Creative hair design skills
Specialist hair and scalp treatments

Certification:
Upon completion of all course’s students will be awarded a Caveman Barbering certificate for your chosen course. Depending on the availability of roles and your progress through the course, Caveman Barber Shop may offer you a permanent full time position upon course completion*.
Barbering equipment you will need:
You will need to purchase and bring your own barbering equipment with you, equipment needed includes Wahl clippers and clipper guards, scissors, comb, neck brush, hair dryer and water spray. These items can be purchased directly from the websites listed below:
How to book:
Course bookings require a deposit of £400 in advance to confirm your place, the remaining balance will need to be paid at least two weeks before the course commences.
